Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

ATLAS Lock & Key takes the privacy and security of your information seriously. As a locksmith business we hold sensitive data — addresses, access arrangements, and key codes — and this policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect it, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Information we collect

When you engage our services we may collect: your name, contact details, and service address; details of the locks, safes, or vehicles we work on; key codes, restricted-key registration details, and access scheduling information; and payment and billing records.

We do not collect more information than is necessary to deliver and account for the service.

  • Identity and contact details
  • Property and vehicle access information
  • Key codes and restricted-key records
  • Job notes and workmanship records
  • Payment and billing information

2. How we use your information

We use your information only to deliver the locksmith service you requested, to maintain accurate records of work performed and hardware supplied, to schedule and dispatch emergency and booked services, and to meet our legal, insurance, and licensing obligations.

We do not use your information for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

3. Storage and security of records

Key codes, restricted-key registration, and access information are stored in encrypted form and access is restricted to the licenced technicians and office staff who need it to perform or account for the work. Physical key blanks and restricted-key stock are held in a secured workshop at 30 Johnston St, Bulimba.

We retain job records for the period required by Queensland licensing and tax law, then securely destroy them.

4. Sharing of information

We only disclose your information where it is necessary to complete the work (for example, to a hardware supplier for a specific restricted-key order), where you authorise it, or where we are required to by law. Restricted-key duplication is only carried out for the signatory registered to that key system.

5. Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and may require verification of your identity before releasing information.

6. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your information you may complain to us directly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
